Olacab: easy and relax transportation in India

CHENNAI: What will happen if the taxi comes to our door and waits for us? It is not a dream. Some countries including India have this system. For this, people need only internet connection and application.

In our country, working people gather in bus stands to go to their office on time. Crowded buses come and go; there have no place to take more passengers. So, faces of the office-going people cover with tensed marks simultaneously with the time passing by. Only one question rounds in their mind, “can I go to office on time?”

This is the common scenario of streets in Bangladesh. People, especially, women who work outside and children who go out for schools or tutors, have to face similar problem everyday.

Most of the time the passengers start looking for a CNG-run auto rickshaw, but this vehicle has become a blue moon for people. If any driver agrees to go, another problem comes into the scene –the high fare.

In India OlaCabs, popularly known as ola, is the name of a relaxed transport. It is a mobile app for personal transportation in India.

Ola started as an online cab aggregator in Mumbai, now based out of Bengaluru and is among the fastest growing businesses in India.

To book an ola cab, the application user will get the information how far the vehicle is and who is the driver with mobile number when open the apps.

After calling him and giving address, the drive reaches to the given address within 5-10 minutes.

It was founded on 3 December 2010 by Bhavish Aggarwal (currently CEO) and Ankit Bhati. By 2014, the company has expanded to a network of more than 200,000 cars across 85 cities.

In November 2014, Ola expanded to incorporate autos on-trial basis in Bengaluru. Ola Auto expanded to other cities like Delhi, Pune and Chennai starting December 2014.

Ola provides different types of cab service ranging from economic to luxury travel. This cab service supports both cash and cashless payment options with Ola money.

It claims to clock an average of more than 150,000 bookings per day and commands 60 percent of the market share in India.

Uber is another application for booking a cab. It was launched operations in Bengaluru first in September in 2013 on a ‘secret testing mode’, following that it was launched in Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Kolkata.

Most of the time, Ola and Uber applications give discount-offers for the passengers. Additional to that, first ride of Uber is free.
