Tk 14,980 cr ADP allocation for RNPP

DHAKA: Rooppur Nuclear Power Project (RNPP) has been allocated Tk 14,980 crore under Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the next fiscal, which is highest for a single project.

The National Economic Council (NEC) in a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair on Tuesday (May 21) approved Tk 2,02,721 crore ADP outlay for Fiscal Year 2019-2020.

The overall ADP size reached Taka 2,15,113.73 crore, incorporating the autonomous bodies and corporation’s own fund of Taka 12,392.73 crore. 

The new ADP has some 1,475 projects including 1,358 investment projects, 116 technical assistance projects and one project from the Japan Debt Cancellation Fund (JFCF).

Besides, there are some 89 projects which would be implemented by the autonomous bodies and corporations.

Planning Minister MA Mannan disclosed details about the allocation adding that the transport sector received the highest ADP allocation of Tk 52,806 crore.
