DHAKA: Film and small screen actress Sohana Saba has lost her father early Monday (September 16).

Freedom fighter Md Showkat Hossain breathed his last at his Elephant Road residence in Dhaka around 3:30am. He was 63.

Saba told Banglanews that her father was suffering from kidney complications for long and transplanted a kidney in India two months ago.

"But, finally failed to save….He left us," she said.

Md Showkat Hossain will be buried in his family graveyard in Rajbari district following a namaj-e-janaja later in the day.

The actress sought blessings from all for the salvation of the departed soul.
