DHAKA: Veteran Dhallywood actor Monowar Hossain Dipjol has bought nomination form from ruling Awami League for contesting the 11th parliamentary election.

He is seeking candidacy from Dhaka-14 constituency (Kaundia-Mirpur-Shah Ali-Daussalam).

Dipjol’s personal assistant Jakir Hossain collected the form from Awami League President Sheikh Hasina’s political office in Dhanmondi Saturday (Nov 10) afternoon.

“I have collected the nomination form on behalf of Mr Dipjol. We believe the party will give us nomination,” he said.

Acting in Dhallywood films over almost four decades has brought him to fame. Also being a businessman, Dipjol served as ward commissioner several times.
