DHAKA: December 7 marks the death anniversary of veteran Bangladeshi film and television actor Khalil Ullah Khan.

On occasion of the long-serving artiste’s third death anniversary, Bangladesh Cholochhitro Shilpi Samiti organized a milad mahfil including reciting the verses of holy Quran at FDC Thursday.    

Secretary General of the artists’ body Zayed Khan told Banglanews: “Valued actor like Mr Khalil born to the earth in very rare occasion. The loss made through his departure isn’t replaceable. I express humble tribute to him, on behalf of all the members of Shilpi samity.”   

Zayed invited everyone to attend the mahfil organized at the study room of the artists association, after Asr prayer.

However, born in 1934 in Sylhet, Khalil earned Bangladesh National Film Award for his role in ‘Gunda’ in 1976. In 2012, he won Lifetime Achievement Award. He also served as the president of the film artistes' association.

‘Preet Na Jane Reet, ‘Bhawal Sannashi’, ‘Jongli Phool’, ‘Bini Sutar Mala’, ‘Wada’, ‘Bou Kotha Kow’, ‘Sonar Cheye Dami’, Megher Pore Megh’ and ‘Modhumoti’ are some of the films he acted in.

Khalil bid farewell to the world in 2014.
