Two Bangladesh women cricketers, who were infected by the Omicron variant, have recovered fully, sources said.

Two women cricketers have recovered from Omicron and will be able to return home soon. According to a source close to the IEDCR, they have tested negative for the Omicron variety.

The same indication was given by Professor Nazmul Islam, Director, Department of Health.

"Their quarantine is in its final stages. We can allow them (two cricketers) to return to their homes quickly after getting the results of all the tests.

A BCB official also said they would be allowed to return home if the report was negative.

Earlier Dr. Niatuzzaman, acting director of Mugda Medical College Hospital, said that after getting the result from IEDCR the hospital medical board will decide their next course of action.

Bangladesh national women’s team earlier arrived in Dhaka from Zimbabwe on December 1 after securing their maiden berth in the ICC Women’s World Cup next year and upon arrival two women cricketers were found to be infected by Omicron variant.
