2nd ODI: Bangladesh chasing Zimbabwe-set 241-run target

Bangladesh are chasing the 241-run target set by the host Zimbabwe in the second ODI of the three match series at Harare Sports Club on Sunday (July 18).

Earlier, the host won the toss and elected to bat first against the visitors.

Zimbabwe have posted 240 for nine as Wessley Madhevere took the highest 56 runs while captain Brendan Taylor got 46 runs.

Shoriful Islam picked up four wickets while Shakib Al Hasan bagged two wickets.

Zimbabwe today have made two changes while Bangladesh remained unchanged. Sikandar Raza and Tinashe Kamunhukamwe are in, replacing Burl and Maruma - both injured.

At this moment, in the prevailing circumstances Bangladesh stands the brightest possible opportunity to win the ODI series and even achieving a Banglawash of Zimbabwe. Having won the first match already by 150 runs it must leave nothing unturned today to play ruthlessly and wrap up the series.

Sports analyst Saleque Sufi said in the absence of Mushfique, Mahmudullah is the most technically accomplished batsman. Shakib needs one long innings only to get back his fluent best. Mithun and Mosaddeq can be better utilised at lower middle order, he added.

Zimbabwe: 1 Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, 2 Tadiwanashe Marumani, 3 Regis Chakabva (wk), 4 Brendan Taylor (capt), 5 Dion Myers, 6 Sikandar Raza, 7 Wesley Madhevere, 8 Luke Jongwe, 9 Blessing Muzarabani, 10 Tendai Chatara, 11 Richard Ngarava

Bangladesh: 1 Tamim Iqbal (capt), 2 Liton Das (wk), 3 Shakib Al Hasan, 4 Mohammad Mithun, 5 Mosaddek Hossain, 6 Mahmudullah, 7 Afif Hossain, 8 Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 9 Mohammad Saifuddin, 10 Taskin Ahmed, 11 Shoriful Islam
