IPL 2021:  Lady Luck May Smile on Luckless RCB In 2021

In every edition of IPL, RCB forms formidable team, look good in some matches, but loose many to either qualify for the business session. Bangalore based Royal Challengers reached final 3 times but lost every time. Their fan followers would hope that edition 14 would change their luck.

The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League will get underway with clash of the giants   between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 9 in Chennai. RCB Captain Virat Kohli is on the threshold of achieving few milestones as the tournament moves on. He is the highest run getter in IPL history.

Virat can be the first Indian player scaling 10,000 runs in T20 Cricket. With 9731 runs at a healthy average of 41.94 with 71 fifties and 5 hundreds he has to score 269 for reaching the enviable milestone. Needless mentioning that Universal boss leads the pack with 13720 Runs. He will also become the first RCB player to make 200 IPL appearances. He is just 122 runs short for becoming the first player scoring 6000 IPL runs. While all these are happening how he would love lifting the IPL trophy, which has eluded RCB so far.

RCB will continue the mission for the maiden IPL title when they kick off the IPL 2021 proceedings against Mumbai Indians on April 9.  RCB have been an underperforming team in past few years. Declined going into the Eliminator and they unsurprisingly crashed out after losing the first knockout match - against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

 2021 IPL 14 RCB Squad:

Virat Kohli (Captain), AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal, Devdutt Padikkal, Harshal Patel, Daniel Sams, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Adam Zampa, Shahbaz Ahmed, Kane Richardson, Pavan Deshpande, Glenn Maxwell, Sachin Baby, Rajat Patidar, Mohammed Azharuddeen, Kyle Jamieson, Dan Christian, Suyesh Prabhudessai, K.S. Bharat, Finn Allen.

RCB spent Ind Rupees 14.25 Crores on all-rounders Glenn Maxwell and Ind Rupee 15.00 Crores on Kyle Jamieson at the auction. They also roped in KS Bharat, Suyash Prabhudessai, Daniel Christian, Mohammed Azharuddeen, Rajat Patidar and Sachin Baby.

With a rich array of impact players like Kohli, Ab de Villiers, Glen Maxwell, Finn Allen and Daniel Sams strong bowling attack with Kyle Jamieson, Mohammad Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar there is no reason why VK cannot celebrate his various milestone achievement year touching the trophy which as RCB captain he did not touch.
