England-South Africa T20 Series
2nd Match Played at Parrl, November 29,2020
England 147/6 in 19.5 Overs (DJ Malan 55, EJG Morgan 26*, JG Buttler 22, T Shamsi 3/19, L Ngidi 2/51, K GF Linde 29, K Rabada 1/23) beat South Africa 146/6 (Q de Kock 30, HE Vander Dussen 25, AD Rashid 2/23) by 4 wickets

Player Of The Match: DJ Malan

On a slow gripping wicket where batsmen of both the team struggled setting their gears David Malan played a matured innings off 40 deliveries to steer home English lion to a 4-wicket win against home team South Africa.

England wrapped up the series with a match to play. Batting first South Africa struggling against pace of Archer and leg spin of Rashid struggled posting par score of 146/6 in 20 overs. English batsmen also found the going tough against Shamsi (3/19) and Ngidi (2/51). Where other batsmen struggled scoring over 30, David Malan batted with patience and endurance producing a quality innings of 55. England managed winning by 4 wickets with only a ball to spare.

Teams are in preparatory missions for 2021 ICC T20 Championship scheduled for playing in India. If not rescheduled by COVID -19 Pandemic teams would be playing ICC T20, 2020 Championship in Australia at this time. West Indies is playing in New Zealand, Pakistan is also there waiting. India is playing in Australia as well. Great watching that world is having exciting cricket matches all over again even during the ongoing pandemic.

The two evenly matched teams played a very tight match at Paarrl yesterday. The wicket however was not at all ideal for stroke play. Unlike typical South African wickets bounce was low and ball was gripping and turning.

Milestones Set up in the match yesterday.

English bowlers Jordan and Rashid achieved some milestones during the South Africa innings. With the wicket Protean Captain of Q de Kock, Jordan equalled Stuart Broad as England's top wicket-taker in T20 format. Jordan and Rashid have 65 Wickets with Jordan having slightly the better strike-rate but Broad maintaining the better average and economy rate.

Rashid drew level with Graeme Swann as England's top T20I wicket-taker among spinners. Both have 51 wickets, with only Jordan and Broad above them among England players. Impressive though such figures are, England still do not have anyone within the top 10 of T20I wicket takers. Lasith Malinga, with 107 wickets, leads the way.

English bowlers kept it tight for the free stroking Protean batsmen not allowing any liberty on the slow pitch. Only captain Q de Cock could reach 30. Linde (29) and He vander Dussen (25) were the two other notable scorers while South Africa struggled to 146/6 in allotted overs. Adil Rashid (2/23) and J Archer (1/18) bowled tight to squeeze the home team.

Even the above below par score was made difficult chasing for the English lions by Shamsi (3/19), Ngidi (2/51) and Rabada (1/25). Only Malan playing an innings of quality steered English through earning a hard-fought win by 4 wickets. Malan proved once again his rating as top T20 batsmen in the world now. He started watchful but accelerated when situation demanded. While all batsmen of both teams struggled crossing 30 his 51 was excellent considering the state of the wicket.
England wrapped up the series (2-0) winning the match
