All guns blazing Gazi Group Chattogram won the toss and crashed a panicking Beximco Dhaka to a paltry 88 All Out on a slow low traditional gripping SBNCS wicket. Of the small score Mohammad Naim alone scored 40. 5 of the batsmen including Mushfique and Sabbir did not even open their account. Chattogram made a cake walk cruising past the target scoring 91/1 in only 10.5 overs. Liton and Soumya put on explosive 71 in the first wicket partnership in 9.4 overs. It was back-to-back second defeat of favorite Dhaka making them languish at the bottom of the points table. Rousing start of Chattogram gave a strong account of them.

Winning the toss in the day night match Mithun, skipper of Chattogram in the anticipation of evening dew opted to field. Athar Ali Khan struggled talking in Bangla with Mithun at the toss sounding interesting. Chattogram bowlers made a feast running through jelly like Dhaka batting with sharp knife. None but opener Naim (40) and briefly Akbar (16) looked at all comfortable on a wicket gripping and keeping low a bit. Mosaddeq (2/9), Shoriful (2/10), Mustafiz (2/13) and Taijul (2/32) ran through Dhaka batting as if Dhaka had their house on fire . There was no such venom on the wicket and no bowler bowled such unplayable deliveries. When Liton and Soumya the flamboyant Chattogram openers batted they found it easy going . They were going merrily in the first wicket partnership scoring 79 in 9.4 overs when Liton (34) playing wrong line to Nasum found his furniture disturbed. Soumya remained unbeaten on 44 as Chattogram cantered past the target scoring 91/1 in 10.5 overs. Beximco Dhaka now has great challenge at hand for survival in the tournament. Their next two matches in round one against Barisal and Khulna won't be easy at all. Chattogram looks great. It is early days but if they can maintain momentum, they will definitely be a contender.
