Match Tied. KKR won in the Super Over.
Player Of The Match: Lockie Ferguson

On a very exceptional day of T20 franchise cricket two matches played ended in tie and decided in super overs. KKR must thank their luck of squeezing out SRH in the super over after a last over burst gave momentum to SRH ending the original contest tied. Batting first KKR put up a descent 163/5. SRH batsmen Warner and Rashid Khan blasting 17 runs in the last over tied the contest at 163/6. However, failing to keep the momentum SRH lost the match in the super over missing a chance for moving up the ladder. KKR had a great escape.

Earlier asked to bat Knight Riders from Kolkata did reasonably well on a slow gripping wicket scoring 163/5. Shubman Gill (34), Morgan (34). Karthik (29*), N Rana (29) all had start but could not spread their wings for taking the team to a score out of reach. SRH bowled and fielded reasonably well creating an opportunity for their batsmen to overwhelm the score. T Natarajan (2/40) was the peak of SRH bowlers. V Shankar (1/20) and Rashid Khan (1/28) also did not allow any freedom to KKR batsmen flaying their bowling.

SRH in reply struggled against sustained pace of Kiwi speed merchant Lockie Ferguson. In one particular spell he got rid of Williamson, Garg and Pandey in quick succession. Warner batting at four was holding the key. But at 146/6 by the end of the 19th over the match was almost over with KKR seemingly winning. But Warner and Rashid Khan adding 17 runs in the last over dramatically enlivened the match. Warner remained not out at 47.

The match was tied as SRH 163/6. But KKR holding their nerves won the super over holding their position among the top league at number 4. Lockie Ferguson taking 3/15 was adjudged the player of the match. It was a great escape for KKR.
