Dream11 IPL 2020, 33rd Match
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) VS Rajasthan Royals.
Played at DCS, Dubai on 17 October 2020
Brief Scorecard:
RCB 179/3 (AB de Villiers 55*, V Kohli 43, D Padikkai 35) beat RR 177/6 (SPD Smith 57, RV Uthappa 41, CH Morris 4/26, YB Chahal 2/34) by 7 wickets.
Player of The Match: AB de Villiers

One cannot write off the possibilities of a team-piping opponent to the post when a batsman named Abraham Benjamin de Villiers (ABD) is in mood. He can unleash without any warning. That is what he did yesterday at DCS Dubai while his team RCB chasing a target of 178 set by Royals of Rajasthan was looking down and out at 3/102 in the 14th over. In 6.3 overs using his bat as double-edged sword him and Gurkerat Singh adding 77 runs in the unfinished 4th wicket partnership hijacked the match from the possession of Royals. Mr. 360 degree smashed unbeaten 55 from only 22 deliveries. RCB winning by 7 wickets consolidated its position in the points table. The way ABD batted would have even made Sir Ijac Vivian Alexander Richards proud. When a batsman bats like that opposition can only stand, watch and applaud. Strokes like relentless tidal surge engulfs.

We think Rajasthan scoring 177/6 in their allotted overs put up a very competitive score batting first. Though Ben Stokes (15), Sampson (5) and Buttler (24) did not contribute much, Smith (57) and Uthappa (41) steadied the rocking boat cracked by CH Morris (4/26) and YB Chahal (2/34). Chasing 160 scores off late on slowing down UAE wicket appeared challenging over the first few matches.

RCB was appeared struggling as well in their chase. Flinch left early. Paddikai (35) and Kohli (43) steadied the innings with 79 runs second wicket partnership. But they could not force the pace as playing strokes was not at all easy. When Kohli got out RCB innings appeared in a mess at 3/102 in 13.1 overs. ABD was their only hope to rescue and revive. He rescued and did it in his own arrogant and flamboyant style. In 22 deliveries only scoring unbeaten 55 with a four and 6 sixes he took RCB across the rope. It was a brilliant exhibition of spectacular power hitting. RCB consolidated its position in the points table. But they must look at their top order batting. Every day may not be ABD tormenting day.
