Player of The Match: Jonny Bairstow

The present state of IPL 2020 must be bookies delight as fringe teams just on the periphery of the top league can gate crash any time upsetting any one or two teams in the rat race. This situation must favor high stake betting. Yesterday at DCS two blasters of international cricket Jonny Bairstow (97) of England and Davy Warner ( 52)  Of Australia blasting 160 runs in 15.1 overs set the tone for SRH before two youngsters Ravi Bishnoi (3/29) and Arshdeep Singh ( 2/53)  restricted SRH to 201/6.  Then Afghan tormentor Rashid mesmerizing Kings of Punjab with his miserly 3/12 of his four overs crashed them to 132 All out. K Ahmed (2/24) and Natrajan (2/24) were his partners for teasing and tormenting the Kings. Winning big by 69 runs SRH brightened their possibility for playing in the knockouts. Off the 132 that KKIP scored N Porran alone scored 70. Eight of the 11 batsmen could not even reach double figure. Two scored 11 runs each. It turned out to be an absolutely one-sided affair.

With over two thirds of IPL2020 almost gone favorites have emerged. Reigning Champions Mumbai Indians and strong Delhi Capitals are more or less assured. In a day or two the position of the other two qualifying positions may get clear unless bookies have other thoughts.

The wicket at DCS Dubai yesterday was slow and the ball was turning. Sensing that wicket would get slower Warner winning the toss and elected to bat.  The excellent opening partnership of 160 in 15.1 overs between Bairstow (97) and Warner (52 ) set the tone of the match . But once budding leggie Robi Bishnoi got rid off Warner, Bairsrow and Manish Pandey in the wink of an eye SRH could not turn the great start into a massive score. After the dismissal of the top three only Williamson could score 20 as SRH reached 201/6 by the end of their allotted 20 overs. Bairstow blasted 7 fours and 6 sixes in his 55 balls 97 ,while Warner was a little less aggressive scoring 52 in 40 deliveries with 5 fours and a six. As mentioned earlier Bishnoi was the peak of KKIP bowlers taking 3/29.

KKIP appeared to loose the plot in the chase.  They crawled to 4/105 by the 16th over before Afghan tormentor classic leg spinner webbing his magic crashed them to 132 all out. His 3 wickets in 4 overs cost him only 12 runs.  Only Nicholas Puran with 70 looked like seriously batting. As many as 8 batsmen could not even produce double figure score.

We are not sure whether this big wins by 69 was the day the bookies prescribed. This win took SRH to number 3 position in the points table.
