Matured batting all the way and calculated assault at right time led DC putting up challenging 175/3 batting first. Smart bowling and sharp fielding suffocated CSK responding only 131/7 in allotted overs. Winning by massive 44 runs DC climbed the ladder of the point’s table to the top after 3 matches. Teams winning the toss and opting to bat have lost 6 out of 7 matches played in IPL 2020 .Still captains opting for this being scared of dew factor playing a roll. But score on board have so far played greater role in defining the outcome. Teams are failing to chase and win so far. Trend may change soon who knows.

DC innings was characterized by very matured opening partnership of young Prithvi Shaw (64) and dynamic Shikhar Dhawan. Playing cautiously in the power play 6 overs they crawled to 36. But in the next 4.4 overs Having their eyes and getting feel of wicket this pair pressing the paddle added 58 in only 4.4 overs before CSK leg spinner Chawla created some tremor removing both of them within the space of 9 runs. But two quality young guns Rishab Pant (37) and Sresh Iyer (26*) steading the boat carried DC to reasonable safety .DC posted 175/3 which on an easy paced did not appear too big a score. None of the CSK bowlers excepting Chawla could make any impression on DC batting.

On the other hand DC bowling was deadly accurate all the way and the fielding was sharp and agile. Opener Vijay and Watson were removed within the first 6 overs with only 34 on board. CSK fell progressively behind as Rabada (3/26) and Nortje (2/21) in particular and rest of the bowlers in general put the squeeze . Only Faf du Plessis (43) and KM Jadhav (26) could resist a bit. CSK could reach 131/7 by their allotted overs and lost by 44 runs. With 4 points in 2 matches DC now leads the points tally. CSK with only 2 from 3 matches has now have challenging task ahead for remaining in the race. 

T20 franchise cricket is a crowd entertainer. Playing behind the door IPL2020 really has not gained any momentum as yet after 7 games. Perhaps it would grow as the tournament goes deep.
