DHAKA: Bangladesh clinched SAFF Under-18 Women’s Championship title by defeating Nepal 1-0 in the final at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu of Bhutan Sunday (October 7).
In first half of the extremely competitive match, neither team could post a goal despite efforts. Though Bangladesh girls got a free kick within three minutes into the game, Nepal defended the scope well. Nepal got similar scopes also but they went in vein in face of Bangladeshi defense.
However, the scenario changed in the second half as Bangladeshi girls became more aggressive for a goal. Their wish came true when Masura Parvin made a beautiful shot to Nepali goal post at 49 minutes into the match. One goal might not seem much but it was enough for Bangladesh to become champion and leave the field victorious.
