A Dhaka court today placed three leaders of Hefazat-e-Islam including its central assistant secretary general Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Raji on a five-day remand each in a case filed over arson attack in Dhaka's Motijheel area in 2013.

The two other Hefazat leaders are: Fakhrul Islam and Manjurul Islam Afendi.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun issued the order on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, police produced them before the court seeking 10 days' remand for them.

The Detectives Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Sakhawat Hossain Raji from his Lalbagh residence in the capital on Wednesday evening.
