BNP announces countrywide demo on Dec 30 BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir

BNP has announced to hold protest rallies in district towns across the country, including the capital, on December 30 marking the second anniversary of the 11th parliamentary election.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the programmes at a press conference at the party's Gulshan office on Monday noon.

He said December 30th will mark the second anniversary of that 'black day' which will be widely remembered by people with hatred and anger. Protest rallies will be held across the country at 11:00 am on that day demanding annulment of the 2018 election outcome and calling a fresh election. 

Moreover, Dhaka north and south units BNP will jointly hold a rally in front of the National Press Club at 11:00 am, Fakhrul said. 

Besides, the party leaders and activists all over the country will wear black badges while black flags will be hoisted atop all of its party offices, including Naya Paltan central one. 

BNP bagged six seats while Gono Forum two in the 2018 general election. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, among eight MP-elect from their alliance under the banner of Jatiya Oikya Front, did not take oath of office.
