Former education minister and presidium member of Bangladesh Awami League Nurul Islam Nahid has tested positive for coronavirus.

Nahid himself confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Friday afternoon.

Nahid, lawmaker from Sylhet-6 constituency, gave his sample on Thursday and the results came back positive for the virus on Friday.

“I am doing well and taking treatment from isolation at my residence in the capital on the doctor’s advice,” he said.

The veteran politician sought blessings of the people for his quick recovery from the disease.
