3 aides of Ducsu VP Nur remanded in rape case

A Dhaka Court on Thursday placed three leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad on two-day remand each in a rape case. 

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam passed the order after police produced them before it with a five-day remand prayer.

The remanded accused are- Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad Joint Conveners Nazmul Hassan Shohag, and Md Saiful Islam, and the organization's DU unit Vice-President Md Nazmul Huda.

The case was filed on September 20 with Lalbagh police station against former Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Vice-President (VP) Nurul Haque Nur and five others on allegation of raping a student of Dhaka University.
 
In the case statements, Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad Convener (temporarily suspended) Hasan Al Mamun was named was the prime accused while Ducsu VP Nur, also joint convener of the same organization, and others were named as aide to the crime.
