Police detained nine people from a procession organized by Jubo Dal, the youth wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, in Paltan area of Dhaka on Thursday. 

The detention came after unidentified miscreants torched seven buses across the capital on Thursday noon. 

Paltan police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Bakar Siddique said police in drives detained the men on suspicion of their involvement in the arson attacks. 

The staggering arson attacks took place in Dhaka's Shahbagh, Press club, Gulistan, Motijheel, Noyabazar, Shahjahanpur and Vatara areas within an hour at noon.
