BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was admitted to a Dhaka hospital after he had a cardiac arrest at the party office in Paltan on Tuesday noon.

He was admitted to Labaid Cardiac Hospital's Coronary Care Unit (CCU), confirmed BNP chairperson's Media Wing Member Shairul Kabir Khan. 

Shairul said Rizvi addressed a human chain organized by Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal in front of the National Press Club around 12:00 pm. Later he went to BNP's Naya Paltan party office and suffered a heart attack around 1:15pm. 

Initially the BNP leader was taken Islami Bank hospital in Kakrail and then transferred to Lab Aid hospital after primary treatment. He is currently under observation, Shairul added.
