Another case has been filed against former vice-president (VP) of Dhaka University Central Student Union (DUCSU) Nurul Haq Nur and five others on allegation of abduction and rape.

A student of Dhaka University filed the case with Kotwali police station on Tuesday, a day after she filed the first case with Lalbagh police station against the same six accused. 

This case was filed under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and Digital Security Act. 

Aside from Nur, other accused of the case are- joint convener of Bangladesh Student Rights Council Nazmul Hasan Sohag, convener Hasan Al Mamun, joint convener Md Saiful Islam, member Nazmul Huda, and DU student Abdullahil Kafi. 

Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter to Banglanews. 

Meanwhile, an hour into arrest in a rape case, former Vice President (VP) of Dhaka University Central Student Union (DUCSU) Nurul Haq Nur was released by the police.

Sources said detective branch of police released him upon undertaking in writing Monday night.

Due to some physical complications, Nur was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

Earlier, police arrested six people including Nurul Haq from Matsa Bhaban area in the capital in connection with the case.

Following the filing of the first case yesterday, Bangladesh Student Rights Council (Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad), a national student body, held a rally on the campus in protest against the case. 

A clash ensued when police tried to disperse demonstrating students near Matsa Bhaban.
