DHAKA: Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Matiur Rahman Nizami fell sick twice during police interrogation Sunday night.

The interrogation began at 8pm at the Detective Branch (DB) office where Nizami was under interrogation for three hours.

DB sources told banglanews24.com.bd that the interrogation halted for 30 minutes as Nizami felt ill for high blood pressure.

Police took him on a three-day remand.

The top three Jamaat leaders were brought under interrogation against a case for attacking on President’s motorcade on February 12 near Paltan traffic signal.

As the law enforcers tried to resist them, the Jamaat-Shibir activists assaulted police following instruction from the top leaders leaving 16 policemen injured.

Police held the Jamaat leaders responsible for the incident.

“According to the information we have, Jaamat-Shibir was out to create unrest across the country,” detective sources claimed.
