Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its associate bodies will hold a two-hour sit-in programme at upazila and thana levels across the country today (April 8) protesting price hikes of essential commodities and power.
The party will also press home their 10-point demand, including holding the next general election under a non-party caretaker government, in the programme.
According to a press release, the programme would be held in 582 upazilas and thanas across the country from 3pm to 5pm with the participation of the party's senior leaders.
Meanwhile, BNP's central leaders have already gone to different upazilas to make the programme a success.
In the capital, the Dhaka North City unit BNP will observe the programme in 26 thanas while the Dhaka South City unit of the party in 24 thanas.
