BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is set to hold an emergency press conference on Sunday (Dec 4) afternoon at the party's Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka. 

BNP chairperson's media wing member Shamsuddin Didar confirmed the matter. 

Sources said that Mirza Fakhrul will discuss the recent arrests of BNP leaders and activists, police raid, and December 10 rally at the press conference.

On Saturday night, president of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, and its vice president Nurul Islam Nayan were arrested while returning from the party’s divisional rally held in Rajshahi. 

Besides, police set up a check post outside BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s home at Gulshan in the capital ahead of much-talked rally on December 10 in Dhaka.
