DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the government is violating human rights one after another in a frantic bid to cling on to power.

Fakhrul said thousands of BNP leaders and activists were disappeared, detained and killed. Some 18 lakh BNP men have been accused in 78,000 cases. We are reading such thing in newspaper everyday. Our men are being murdered in name of anti-drug drives. The government is now desperate do anything.

Fakhrul told the diplomats, “I hope the documentary presented in front of you is enough for explaining the situation. The election process is also completely destroyed as you have seen it in the recently held city polls.”

Fakhrul also criticized government over quota issue and denounced the attack on quota movement leaders and activists.
