An unidentified woman was killed as a BRTC double-decker bus hit her near Gulistan Trade Center in the capital on Sunday (Oct 2).

She is about 50 years old.

The woman was injured after being hit by a double-decker bus at the crossing next to Gulistan Trade Center at around 12 noon today.

Later, the police took her to the emergency department of the Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital, where duty doctor declared her dead around 1 pm.

Salauddin Mia, officer-in-charge of Paltan Model Police Station confirmed the matter. 

“After the incident, the BRTC bus seized and its driver was arrested too,” he said. 

However, the OC said the woman's name and address were not immediately known.
