Met office forecasts light to moderate rain

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes for different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am today (Sep 29). 

According to the Met office bulletin, light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi division, at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it also said.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to Northwest Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate elsewhere over North Bay.

Country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded by 35.5 degree Celsius at Sayedpur and minimum temperature today was recorded by 23.8 degree Celsius at Nikli. 

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded by 14 millimeters (mm) at Bogura.

The sun sets at 5:48 pm today and rises at 5:50 am tomorrow in the capital.
