The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Monday (Sep 26) arrested 60 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, said a DMP statement today.

They seized 1,972 pieces of Yaba tablets, 14gm of heroin and 88.125kg hemp, 47 bottles of local liquor, 44.4gm of crystal meth (ice) and 29 injectable drugs from their possessions, the statement said. 

According to the statement, a total of 58 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
