A fisherman went missing and another was injured after falling into Meghna river due to lightning in Akhner Hat area of Chandpur Sadar Upazila.

The missing man was identified as Mansoor Ahmed, 38.

The injured was identified as Ali Ahmed Howladar, 45, Mansoor Ahmed's elder brother. He is currently under treatment at Chandpur Government General Hospital.

Hanarchar Union Parishad Chairman Abdus Chattar Rahri confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said after the incident, local traders rescued the injured fisherman and rushed him to the hospital. Chandpur Naval Fire Service personnel and divers arrived around 3:30 to rescue the other fishermen. 

However, the missing fisherman has not been found yet, said UNO.

Fire Service and Civil Defense Chandpur river station leader Pranab Barua told Banglanews that "Our divers continue to rescue the missing fisherman".
