Bangladeshi youth’s leg severed as landmine explodes in Myanmar

A Bangladeshi youth was injured in a 'mine explosion inside Myanmar' near the Baishfari border in Ghumdhum, Naikhongchhari Upazila of Bandarban district.

The victim was identified as Angthoying Tanchanga (22). He is a resident of Baishfari Chakma Para.

The incident occurred in Myanmar territory adjacent to Baishfari Chakma Para of Ghumdhum Union of the Upazila on Friday (Sep 16) morning.

One of his legs was severed from his body in the mine explosion.

Naikshyongchari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Salma Ferdous told Banglanews that a Bangladeshi youth was injured in a mine explosion on the border and was rescued and rushed to hospital. The matter is being investigated.

Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital police member assigned to security Ripon Chowdhury said that a youth was brought to the hospital injured this afternoon.
