Police have filed a case against three car drivers in connection with the death of 4 people in a road accident at Mirsrai.

The case was filed by ATSI Saiful Islam of Zorarganj Highway Police Station on Thursday (Sep15) night.

The accused in the case are Jonaki Paribahan bus driver, a covered van driver, and a lorry driver.

Earlier, on Wednesday (Sep 14) a Chattagram-bound Jonaki Paribahan bus hit the rear of a lorry in Raipur area of Mirsarai on the Dhaka-Chattagram highway. Later, during the argument between the two drivers, a covered van from Dhaka going to Chattagram hit the people who were standing on the road. Resulting in 4 people dying on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Md. Sheikh Farid, 30, Sheikh Suman, 25, Mehdi, 22 and Abul Kashem, 60.

However, in that accident, six people were injured including Deputy Inspector (SI) of Zorarganj Highway Police Station Md. Mustafa, Rakibul, Abdul Aul, and a disabled person. 

Later, the injured were under treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital. 

After the accident, Jonaki Paribahan's bus, lorry, and covered van were seized and taken into the highway police custody.
