Met office forecasts light to moderate rain

Bangladesh Meteorological Department today (Sep 16) predicted rain for different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am.

According to the Met office bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lighting flashes is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country.

Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, according to a weather forecast for next twenty-four hours commencing 9am on Friday, it added.  

The well-marked low over Northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining area lies over Uttar Pradesh and adjoining area. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, centre of the Well-marked low, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to Northwest Bay.
 
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate elsewhere over North Bay.

Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded by 33.7 degree celsius at Rajshahi and minimum temperature today was recorded by 23.7 degree celsius at Rajshahi. Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today (Friday) was recorded by 69 millimeters(mm).

Today's sunset at Dhaka at 6.01pm and tomorrow's sunrise at 5.45am.
