Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a drug peddler along with Yaba tablets, Phensedyl, Hemp, and a private car at Benapole border area.

The arrestee was identified as Sohag Mia (35), son of deceased Mahar Ali of Baganchra Satmile area of Sharsha Upazila.

He was arrested on Thursday (Sep 15) afternoon in Kagaz Pukur area of Benapole Highway.

Jessore 49 BGB Battalion Captain Shahed Minhaj Siddiqui disclosed this in a press release this evening.

On a tip-off, a suspicious private car was stopped by conducting a drive in the Kagoz Pukur area and recovered 4.996 pieces of yaba tablets, 100 bottles of Phensedyl, and 4kg of hemp, said BGB official.

A case will be filed against Sohag under the Narcotics Control Act and will be handed over to Benapole Port police station, he added.
