Members of the Narcotics Control Directorate have arrested two people along with hemp and Yaba tablets in separate operations at Barisal City Corporation.

The arrestees are identified as Sajjad Hossain (31) and Noor Islam (24).

Assistant director of the department Enayet Hossain disclosed the matter today (Sep 15) and said they were arrested yesterday morning.

He said on a tip-off, around 2.30 am, "Our team conducted a raid in Nathullabad bus terminal area of the city."

Noor Islam was arrested with 3 kg of hemp from the terminal's Alpha stand, on the other hand, Sajjad Hossain along with 1,980 pieces of Yaba tablets was arrested from the same place at around 3:30 am, said the official. 

Two separate cases have been lodged at the airport police station of the Metropolitan Police, he added.
