Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Atiqul Islam has instructed the authorities to stop the construction work of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project in the capital until ensuring security measures.

He gave this order while visiting the accident site on Jasimuddin Road in Uttara of the capital on Tuesday morning.

On Monday, five passengers, including two children, of a car were crushed to death and two others were injured after a box girder of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project fell on a car, due to not ensuring safety measures and traffic management during the work on one of Dhaka's busiest highways.
