The High Court on Thursday (Aug 11) wanted to know why the Bangladesh government did not seek any specific information on the money deposited to Swiss banks by Bangladeshi citizens.

The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat passed the order on a Suo Muto (voluntary) move.

The court came up with the order following reports published in different newspapers on the statement made by Switzerland Ambassador to Bangladesh Nathalie Chuard.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and the state have been asked to inform the HC by next Sunday.
