Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Wednesday (Aug 10) predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at different parts of the country in next 24 hours as of 9:00 am on Thursday.
According to a met office bulletin, light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over southern part of the country.
The day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it added.
Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur and minimum temperature today was 24.5 degrees Celsius jointly at Hatiya and Sitakunda.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 53 mm in Teknaf.
The sun sets at 6.36 pm today and rises at 5.32 am tomorrow in the capital.
