Two Rohingya men were shot dead by unidentified miscreants at Ukhiya Rohingya camp of Cox's Bazar on Tuesday (Aug 9) night.

The deceased were identified as Chief Majhi Abu Taleb, son of Abdur Rahim of C block of camp 15 and Majhi Syed Hossain, son of Imam Hossain of C/9 sub-block.

Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Additional Superintendent of Police (Media) Mohammad Kamran Hossain said that a number of miscreants shot Syed Hossain and Abu Taleb at midnight on the hill slope of C-9 Block of the Camp 15.

Syed Hossain succumbed to his injuries at Jamtoli MSF Hospital while Abu Taleb at Kutupalong Hospital, he added.

Kamran Hossain further said that police are trying to arrest the miscreants.

Officer-in-charge of Ukhia Police Station, Mohammad Ali said, “A process is underway to file a case in this regard at Ukhia Police Station.”
