Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has published a new transport fare chart for various routes after rescheduling fares.

BRTA released the rescheduled fare list on their website on Monday (August 08).

According to the chart, the passenger fare of diesel-powered buses and mini-buses running on inter-district and long-distance routes has been fixed at Tk 2.20 per kilometer.

In this regard, a letter has been sent to the Secretary General/General Secretary of Bangladesh Road Transport Association, Chairman/Secretary General of Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners Association and urged to take necessary measures to collect the fare at the prescribed rate by the government.

Earlier, the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources has increased the prices of kerosene, diesel, petrol and octane on August 5 due to the increase in global prices.

In the new prices, the retail price of diesel and kerosene has been increased to Tk 114 per litre, octane to Tk 135 and petrol to Tk 130. Earlier, the retail price at the consumer level was Tk 80 per liter of diesel and kerosene, Tk 88 for octane and Tk 86 for petrol.
