Rohingya man shot dead in Teknaf 'over dominance’  

A Rohingya man was killed in a shootout between two groups of Rohingyas 'over dominance' in the hilly area near Nayapara registered refugee camp at Teknaf in Cox's Bazar. 

The deceased identified as Md. Ibrahim (30), son of Abdur Razzak, was a resident of C-Block of the Rohingya camp.

This incident took place on Sunday (August 7) evening, said APBn-16 captain and additional deputy inspector general Hasan Bari Noor.

After the incident, members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) recovered the dead body, he said.

The police have arrested a suspect in this regard, the official added.

He said: “We came to know that the incident happened due to dominance. As soon as the police reached the spot, the extremists fled away.”
