Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) on Saturday (Aug 6) night announced new fares for public transport services in the city and highways in the wake of increased fuel price.
It increased bus fare by35 paisa per km for movement within city and 40 paisa for long journey.
The new price will come into effect from Sunday.
Earlier, BRTA held a meeting with bus owners and other stakeholders at its office at Banani in the capital.
The increase in fare of buses and minibuses came following soaring fuel price coming into effect since Friday midnight.
