The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 51 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Friday (August 5).

Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.

The DMP seized 4,639 pieces of Yaba tablets, 19.95kg hemp and 53gm 10 puria of heroin, 4 bottles of Phencidyl, and 47 kg 125 grams of hemp a DMP statement said.

Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said. 

According to the statement, a total of 36 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
