The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 87 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Thursday (July 28).

Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.

The DMP seized 5,440 pieces of Yaba tablets, 7.94gm hemp, 67gm heroin, 85 bottles of phensedyl and 104 injectable drugs, a DMP statement said.

Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said. 

According to the statement, a total of 60 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
