A Chattogram court is set to pronounce the verdict today (July 27) in a case filed against suspended OC of Teknaf police Pradeep Kumar Das and his wife Chumki Karan in a graft case.

Judge Munshi Abdul Majed of the Chattogram Divisional Special Judge’s Court on July 18 fixed the date (today) for delivering the verdict as hearing arguments on both sides ended.

On August 23 in 2020, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case against Pradeep and his wife over amassing wealth worth Tk4 crore illegally.

Besides, Pradeep was awarded the death penalty on January 31 for the brutal murder of former army officer Maj (retd) Sinha Mohammed Rashed Khan in Cox’s Bazar.
