Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reached Tungipara of Gopalganj by road crossing the Padma Bridge on Monday.

She left Dhaka around 8 am and reached Gopalganj Sadar at 11:20 am.

Prime Minister's son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, ICT Affairs Adviser and daughter Saima Wazed Putula accompanied her.

They paid their respects by laying a wreath at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. They also offered special prayers for the eternal peace of Bangabandhu and the other martyrs of the August 15 carnage.

This is her first visit to Tungipara after the inauguration of the bridge and the first time she is going there by road. 

She paid toll at the Mawa point of the Padma Brisge at 8:50 am, the PM's press wing confirmed.
