The parliament today (June 30) has passed a budget of Tk 6 lakh 8 thousand 84 crore for the fiscal year 2022-23. 

The budget was passed by voice vote in a parliamentary session chaired by Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury this noon. 

The budget will be effective from Friday (July 1). 

Earlier, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal presented the budget in Parliament on June 9. Members of Parliament (MPs) then discussed the proposed budget throughout the session.
