Police arrests 9 Rohingyas in Subarnachar 

Nine Rohingyas, including two children, were arrested in Subarnachar Upazila this morning around 10 am on Sunday (June 26).

Charjabbar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Devapriya Das confirming to this matter said that the locals handed nine Rohingyas to the police while fleeing from Hatiyar Bhasanchar Shelter Project in Noakhali’s Dwip Upazila.

The detained Rohingyas are- Md. Salam's son Nur Qasim (19), of cluster number 11 of Bhasanchar shelter, Karimullah (22) of cluster 63, Hossain Joardar (26) of cluster 50, Yunus (26) of cluster 64, wife of Karim Ullah of cluster 6 Saikat Tara (30), Rajuma, wife of Nur Qasim of cluster No. 61, Parveen (25), wife of late Khairul Alam of cluster No. 6, and Khairul Alam’s daughter Jharnatala (6) and son Nurul Islam (4). 

They were arrested from Thanarhat area of Charwapada union of the upazila around 1am on Saturday, said Devapriya Das.

During the primary interrogation, the detained admitted that they had fled from Bhasanchar by the help of brokers. Said OC, further adding, there destination was to Kutu Palang Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar. After talking to the higher authorities, legal action will be taken against the detainees.
