The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 51 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Saturday (May 28).

Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.

The DMP seized 1,021 Yaba tablets, 126.245kg of hemp, 228gm of heroin, 112 bottles of phensidyl and 30 injectable drugs from their possessions, a DMP statement said.

Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said. 

According to the statement, a total of 39 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
