Police have recovered a hanging body of 24-year-old student from a house at Goabari area of Sylhet on Friday (May 27) morning.

Deceased Sourav Das Rahul was a 4th year Sociology student of MC College and hailed from Shalla upazila of Sunamganj.

Police recovered his body at around 10.30 am from his room at House -22 of C-block in Mohana residential.

According to police, some of his classmates living in the same house last saw Sourav at around 1:15 am. In the morning his body was found hanging from the ceiling fan, they said.

Jalalabad police inspector Khaled Mamun said that they have recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Osmani Medical College for autopsy.

Initially, it is thought to be a suicide. However, an investigation is underway, he said.
